This model has a straight apperature in order to present a different approach to making contact with your attacker. The selection between straight and curved stun guns is mainly up to user preference.

All of our stun guns use low amperage but high voltage to temporarily disable an attacker for several minutes. The stun gun does not rely on pain for results, while it isn't always a pleasant experience it is not as painful as most people would imagine. The energy stored in the stun gun is dumped into the attacker's muscles causing them to do a great deal of work rapidly, or convulse. This rapid work cycle, or convulsion, instantly depletes the attacker's blood sugar by converting it into lactic acid. This lactic acid causes the muscles to shut down, keeping anymore energy from entering into the muscles. Since this is happening, energy will not go back into the muscles until the lactic acid levels drop back down. It's the same as doing a really heavy 3 hour workout in just a few seconds, without causing any damage to the muscles. The stun gun also interrupts the tiny neurological impulses that control and direct voluntary muscle movement. When the attacker's neuromuscular system is overwhelmed and controlled by the stun gun he loses his balance.

If for some reason the attacker touches you while you are stunning him, the power from the stun gun will not transfer over to you. It will remain grounded in the attacker.
